八幡大神楽

山田八幡宮神幸祭（しんこうさい）の役踊り（意味確認）として明治初期より踊られていると伝わっています。例大祭の神輿渡御の際は、必ず神輿の通り道を八幡大神楽が清めてから神輿を通すことになっています。

Hachiman Daikagura (Yamada Town, Iwate)
It is said that this kagura dance has been performed as 役踊り since the beginning of the Meiji era as a part of the Yamada Hachimangu Shrine Shinkosai (a Shinto festival where a divine spirit goes on a journey). During the procession of the mikoshi at the annual festival, the path is always purified by the Hachiman Daikagura before the mikoshi is carried through.
