中里七ツ舞

この舞は、下閉伊郡地方に古くから伝承していた黒森神楽（山伏神楽）で、家々に舞い込む先払いの芸能から風流化したもの。太刀や薙刀、杵、扇子等七つの道具・武具を持って神の道案内をするという舞で、岩泉町小本地区独特のテンポの速い勇ましい振りで、中里の小中高生を中心にして構成されており、２人一組で向かい合って踊る。全国的に高い評価を得るほか、13年にわたって岩手大学ばっけの会に伝承している。

The Nakasato Nanatsumai is derived from the beginning part of the Kuromori Kagura, one of the yamabushi (mountain hermit) kagura, which has been inherited in Shimohei district. The dance serves as gods’ usher with seven instruments such as sword, naginata (Japanese halberd), pounder, fan and so on. The nimble and wild character of the choreography is peculiar to Omoto community in Iwaizumi town. The dancers, mainly the elementary to high school students, make pairs facing each other to perform. The dance has been highly acclaimed through the nation, and also taught at Bakke-no-kai at Iwate University for 13 years.
