江戸時代末期に、宮古市茂市（もいち）から婿に来た佐四郎（さしろう）が茂市鹿子踊（もいちししおどり）を法の脇地区に伝えたのが始まりとされます。大正時代に現在の形態になったと言われています。
Norinowaki Shishimai (Miyako City)
It is said that Norinowaki Shishimai originated in the late Edo period, when Sashiro, a son-in-law from Moichi of Miyako City, brought the Moichi Shishi Odori to the Norinowaki District. It is said that the dance took its present form in the Taisho era.
