地ノ森権現

新山神社(しんざんじんじゃ)は権現宮と称されているように権現様が祀られている。
神社に確かな記録はなく年代は不詳とされているが、伝承された舞は素朴なものであったことから、その頃の芸の達者な主人が数週間にもわたり毎夜部落の青年を集め、部落独自の権現舞を完成させた。
他に比類を見ない勇壮活発な舞は、市内はもとより、唐丹・横田方面迄にも広がり、の地域の権現舞の元祖として景仰されていった。
戦後の急変による社会情勢に対応できず一時は自然解散となるが、有志によって現在の権現舞保存会も復興。先陣の遺してくれた文化遺産として近年は、精力的に活動を続けている。

The Shinzan Shrine is also called Gongen-gu, as the Gongen-sama is enshrined there.
Although there are no definite records of the shrine, a master of the arts at the time gathered community youths every night for several weeks, completing its own unique gongenmai, as the one inherited was very simple.
This unparalleled brave and lively dance spread not only in the city, but also in the Toni and Yokota areas, and was regarded as the origin of gongenmai in the region.
With the difficulty of keeping up with the social changes after World War II, the gathering was temporarily dissolved, but was later reconstructed by volunteers who have founded the current Gongenmai Preservation Society. The organization has since been energetically continuing its activities with the cultural heritage left by their predecessors.
