板用肩怒剣舞

宝暦初年（1751）、酒田の本間家と並び称せられた猪川町稲子沢家中興の祖第四代理兵衛祀昭の代に財力にものを云わせ金にあかして、 社殿や仏殿の造作を行った。
京都より仏具師や彫刻師を招き、仏像、仏具を製作し広大な舎殿を造営した。
当時稲子沢家には、多数の使用人達がおり、その和をはかるため、 先祖が江刺の出身なので江刺に古くから伝わると云われる念佛剣舞を導入し、その念佛剣舞に、仏具師や彫刻師「マキタ某」に剣舞に使う面や装束を作らせた。
京都の祭り風俗等をおりまぜて独特の剣舞とした。
そのため肩怒剣舞と称し大拍子にして雄壮剣理に合致した踊り方であります。
特長は肩怒（衣冗・束帯・直衣等当時の衣服を形どったもの）をまとい大拍子にして威厳のある踊りであります。
宝暦2年（1752）稲子沢家より分家を出したが、剣舞の一切を含め板用に寄付。
板用の剣舞として永年伝承保存するよう申し伝えて分家させた。
以後今日に至るまで、ある時期には30〜40年と休みがありながらも先輩達の努力により消滅することなく踊りの中味も往時と何等変わることなく今日までその芸能が踊り伝えられて来ている。

Named alongside the Honma family in Sakata, Ikawa Town’s Inagosawa family was rejuvenated by Rihê IV, Toshiaki, and with his financial resources, a shrine and a Buddhist temple were built in 1751.
Rihê IV, Toshiaki invited Buddhist altar craftsmen and engravers from Kyoto to make statues, altars, and a vast reliquary hall.
At the time, the Inakosawa family had a large number of servants, so to bring harmonization amongst one another, they incorporated a nenbutsu kenbai, a folk performing art handed down since ancient times in Esashi, because they had ancestors from there.
The Buddhist altar craftsmen and engravers with the name, Makita, were then asked to make face masks and costumes, resulting in a unique kenbai that incorporated festival customs of Kyoto.
This is now called Kataikari Kenbai, with a dance method that mixes heavy beats to majestic sword dancing.
This folk performing art form features a dignified dance with heavy beats, wearing kataikari, modeled from the nobleman clothing at the time such as ikan, sokutai, and noushi.
In 1752, the Inakosawa family branched out to the Itayo area and donated all kenbai materials to the local residents, telling them to inherit and preserve them as a kenbai for their community.
Though there has been a break of about 30 to 40 years, this traditional art form has since then been handed down to this day, without any changes to the content of the dance with the efforts of the predecessors.
