釜津田鹿踊り

釜津田鹿踊りは、今から約１７０年前に、川井村（現宮古市川井）の夏屋（なつや）から伝えられたといわれており、今では１１種類もの踊り方があります。「二番庭」は鹿が新築の家に来て新しい庭を踏み固めている様子、「入れ違い」は何かうれしいことがあって鹿がたくさん集まって喜んでいる様子を表現した踊りです。このように鹿踊りは、祭りや祝い事、亡くなった人の供養やお盆の行事のときに、各家やお墓まで出向いて踊られました。現在は、保存会によって受け継がれ、秋祭りや芸能祭の行事、お盆の時期に地域の岡山神社などで踊られています。

Kamatsuta Shishi Odori (Iwaizumi Town)
The Kamatsuta Shishi Odori is said to have been introduced from Natsuya in Kawai Village (now Kawai, Miyako City) about 170 years ago, and there are now 11 different ways to dance it. The “Nibanniwa” dance shows the shishi coming to a newly built house and stepping on the new garden, and the “Ire-chigai” dance shows the shishi gathering together to celebrate something happy. As such, shishi odori was performed at festivals, celebrations, memorial services for the deceased, as well as obon events, where they visit each house and graves. Today, the dance is handed down by preservation groups, and is performed at the Okayama Shrine and other places during autumn festivals, geinoh festival events, and the obon period.
